After over a year of searching for this model on the auction sites, it finally appeared...The 1970 Stainless Steel Bulova Golden Clipper with the Day/Date at the 6:00 position. It has a 17J 11ANACB automatic movement that is date stamped N1 (which seems to be common with the other two) a Grey dial with White lumed hands and dots above the markers and an applied Black "Bulova" at the 12:00 position. The case and back which is numbered 786 are Stainless Steel and in super shape and the Stainless Steel Kreisler "Stelux" band looks like it is a match to the ad. It It is a heavy chunky watch compared to its two brothers in the picture. (still hunting for the last one) And yes bobbee that is one of the 100 Golden Clipper Swords in the background...
In reply to Oh you are good! Great by bobbee
Great Golden Clipper model number 11816?? I think that's what the ad says. Guess that number would go in variant field? With the N1 movement, should it be a 1971 production date? I don't see the case SN 1-891097 on the case back, but am guessing it's in the "shadow" of the second picture- below the stainless steel markings.
What a cool set to have....well almost a complete set...good luck with the 4th, and the straps may be harder to find then the watches....
If I might suggest, when a member makes a post such as this with an ad that's a dead match, a vote is not needed to post. Further dissusion can add the model # or variant designation and the owner can make the edits as required, or a panal member if the owner isn't around to do so.
There's no need for keeping this in the red zone now, Post it.
Dang, you got one of them swords!!?? I hate you, - well just for a minute. There, I'm over it (I think).
This watch is one of my all time favorites. I love the vertical day /date.
I would be OK publishing this as a Golden Clipper, I would be OK publishing it as the 11816 as well or using the catalog # as a variant.
We have the ad, to Shawn's point It's a Clipper - PUBLISH!
