Guessing this could be a Cambridge, but far from sure.
The crown is not stamped. Inside the backplate, it says "Bulova, 10K rolled gold plate bezel, sterling base, stainless back, New York". Someone has also scratched some numbers/letters, which might read "11848-69-62, CV16V, Sep 10-49", but also might not.

The 1941 Cambridge ad pre dates the watch (this is an official Bulova Ad), the 1944 Cadet ad POST dates by one year but it's from a retail outlet. The 1943 ads show an unengraved Cadet and what appears to be and ENGRAVED Cadet "A". The watch S/N could date it to 1944. If we settle there, I say Cadet "D". It could really be any of the three.

Wayne posted some ad snippets in this 1944 Cadet record here. He shows the similarities of the Bruce, Cambridge and Cadet. The third ad (Cambridge) Wanye lists above is dated in the text as 1944, but the graphic file name indicates it's a 1946 Cambridge ad. I haven't checked the ad database to confirm dates. He may have used a latter (1946) Cambridge ad, but I think we have a 1944 ad for Cambridge too.
The thread linked below is a good refresher on the ad data progressions and similarities between Cadet/Cambridge/Bruce. It looks like it's accurate to me, but I didn't go check all the ads :)

I saw that 1944 ad, but it looks like they may be describing (and picturing?) the "B" and "D". Black numerals/hands described and pictured.
The 1943 "A" ads show/discribe gold numerals/hands, and I think it would still be an "A" w/ this dial configuration in 1944. The case SN on subject watch suggests 1944.
Should we update record to 1944 Cadet "A"?
