Will,
I'm not sure if the Case color would affect a specific Model Name but in 1945 the Jewel count would and it is a reasonable deduction to conclude We're looking at the 'TIME KING'.

In reply to I curious where Scott by mybulova_admin
I think this is the post you mention about Scott :http://www.mybulova.com/node/1688
And OT does have a 21 jewel time king, altough I think it's "tentative"
I'd vote for tenative Time King and we can always change later.

admin,
The Watch Model ID is pure logic.
The Glass fits 2 Models, the early-mid 1940's 'BROADCASTER' and the 'TIME KING'. The 'BROADCASTER' being positively identified by ad as being the same as the subject except the Jewel count.
'BROADCASTER' is 17 Jewels.
Subject is 21 Jewels.
2 - 1 = 1
'TIME KING'
it's all We have.
I'm just going to chuck another spanner into the mix here. Take the 1938 models named Broadcaster & Time King. These look very different to these models as they are tonneau style but interestingly both are listed as taking the same crystal as each other again. The broadcaster in this case has 21j as the advert shows. I cant find an ad for the time king (yet again). But why would they change the broadcaster from a 21j to a 17j in the space of 5 years. Is it possible that one of these 1940's A/B/C Broadcasters did have a 21j movement? Or perhaps the more expensive Broadcaster from the price list? I'm hung on this one. I'm interested because I have the Yellow 21j 1943 version and the Rose 17j 1943 version sitting here peaking my interest.
1938 Broadcaster 21j
I'm at two ticks for Time King, even though Fifth and OT have one w/ 21 jewels...we don't have an ad, and it sure looks like a yellow 17 jewel Broadcaster to me. I think we are still basing this on some crystal specs Scott typed into another record a few years ago.
