“This auction is for a circa 1929 Bulova Wrist Watch, we think it matches the face of the 1929 Fleetwood, but this one has a 17 Jewel 10AN movement. (We matched it on the mybulova com site - what an incredible Bulova resource!!) We may have it wrong, if so, let us know and we will get it up here.”
You have it exactly right Sir!

Back in the 1920s, actually... Madame Curie died from Radium poisoning maybe even earlier than that??? (The co discoverer/developer of Radium in 1890s, as I recall from grade school???)
Radium paint was pulled in the 30s, I think? However they KNEW it was bad news... LONG before then!

All three Fleetwood ads in this post indicate one horizontal row of engravings on bezel. Subject watch has two horizontal rows of engravings. Some other minor differences which could be artists rendering issues, but the issues persist in three apparently different ads.
Ambassador- two horizontal rows of engravings. 1930 ad below:
See this 1931 Ambassador record for the various discussion leading up to Ambassador for subject watch.
The Jewel count does not match the advertised 'AMBASSADOR' - The 'FLEETWOOD' is advertised as 17 Jewels.
The horizontal engraving design change / variant can also be seen on the 'AMBASSADOR' http://www.mybulova.com/sites/default/files/vintage_ads/1929-bulova-ad-… ad Dated 1929.
I think We have the correct ID on this one as the 'FLEETWOOD'
