Hi everyone,
I have had this lovely Bulova for about 2 years and identified back then as a His Excellency "UU", from 1947, but today some other collectors made my actually wonder ... by looking at the adverts of the time.
This one looks very similar, has a 7AK caliber (used on many Bulovas at the time) but the profile, the side, is slightly different.
I can' t really pinpoint the exact model, anybody can help ?
Thanks in advance
Roby

I am a but curious about the case being original with the rest of the watch. In one photo (backside) the case looks to protrude out from the back. The case has been seen before, but not in the 40s. I'm wondering if the HE components were added to the case/bezel. The bezel is more in line with later 50s models, possibly called the Kirkwood. I've mentioned this before, but there should be etched Roman numerals inside the bezel that match the last three numbers in the serial number 147. This is a good indicator of the two being original to one another.

Hi and thanks for the reply,
I can tell you that the case and the back match perfectly, the back has only the expected "Bulova fifth ave, NY" engraving inside but they look like belonging to each other, to the mm...they are not a later coupling, too perfect of a fit.
it' s the profile of the case/bezel that we can' t find in the records, I it does look like the Kirkwook you suggested but for the glass which has no angle as in the catalon/advert you pointed to.
Curious situation, it looks like one of those "unkonwn" that are not in the files because of the few that have been misplaced. Bulova was great with that but still a few were lost.
Thanks
In reply to Unknown for me. As mentioned by neetstuf-4-u
Thanks,
I have looked all over the web for 2 days and could not find that particular side/profile.... and I am sure that the case and the back are from the same watch, too perfectly fit. The 7AK movement also may confirm the 1947 production (1936 - 1949)
I will keep it as "unknown" model until and if something comes up
Thanks to all
