This is watch #2. I believe this to be a 1948 His Excellency "JJ". It has a 10KT Yellow Gold Filled case and case back. There is no date code on the case. The movement is a 10BH 21J with a 48 Date code. The dial has yellow gold applied 1-12 hour markers in a great font. It is engraved on the back "Bill Adams 217-74-96 U.S. Navy", Very cool...just love personalized watches. Had a bad hairspring but had a spare complete balance to swap out to get it running again. It appears to have the original Kreisler gold filled bracelet from the attached Dec 1948 ad although the clasp is slightly different. The links are definitely a match.

Thanks Geoff. Mine too. This model and the Berkshire (still looking) for some reason speak out to me. I believe now I have at least 8 or nine different models or model year versions of this watch from 1946-1949. Plus one with a non-Bulova case. Still looking for new versions. I should put them all together for a family photo LOL. I also have a fairly clean dial and movement with a bad hairspring if someone needs a movement or better dial.

1948 Bulova His Excellency "JJ"
That's a nice one. Based on the Navy serial number engraved on the watch, I would say Bill was an officer. Very cool. I have a thing for personalized engravings on watches as well. Whenever I pick one up, the first task is see if I can put a face or circumstance to it. Google is great for that.
