I am unable to get the back off of my 1957 women's bulova to see the movement model. Just wondering what information the movement model gives? Also, any suggestions for safely getting the back off?
Movement models don't give any particular information that would help identify a watch, but is nice to know along with any serial numbers the watch may have.
If you want to try yourself to remove the back you should use something either plastic or wood. Try and avoid using a metal object as you'll probably end up putting a nice scratch along the back case like many of us have no doubt done before.
If you are uncomfortable about doing this you should take the watch to a jeweler. However if it's too much trouble just leave it as is and don't worry about the movement model number.
I look forward to seeing the watch added to the myBulova site.
To add a watch photo to the site it's best to use the following settings:
- use .jpg format
- resize to a maximum width or height of 800px
- Change the resolution setting to 72dpi
If all else fails send the photo to [email protected] along with the details of the watch and I will add it for you.
