I picked up what I believe to be the Air Warden model. The numerals are more calligraphic style as opposed to the block numbers in the Nighthawk.
The Air Warden has ads with both calligraphic numerals and block numbers:
The ads for the Nighthawk only show the block numbers:
So... as the ages of these ads are back and forth from 1941-43... it seems as though the names were interchangable even during production and sales.
I will however say that I think I have an Air Warden as it's the only ad with the calligraphic numerals:
I like this pickup as I already have one of these in the block numbers... so I'm thinking I have both versions now, though my Nighthawk is in really rough shape and will need a major clean/dial work.

Good eye, I had not noticed the difference in the ads prior to this showing of your new aquizition. I agree with your deductions. However, how can one tell if a watch is an Air Warden or Night Hawk, if hypothetically, one has six watches with common dial, depicted in four of the ads above. In other words, what is the name of the watch below?
