It looks identical to the Lady Bulova except the Lady Bulova is yellow and the Barbara is white.

I am on the Lady Bulova model but think we need to date this to 1939 due to the very unusual shield date code on the case back after Bulova.

1938 date code on movement and 1938 s/n on case. I'm pretty sure the shield is a trademark for American Standard.

Crescent is the 1938 date code but that doesn’t change your argument.
