Hello, I have come across a my grandfathers watch and would like to find out a little about it. I’d also like to get it restored. The watch says Bulova on the face which is white – see pictures attached.
Other details: The inside mechanism says: Bulova Watch Co 21 Jewels USA 8AC L6 The back of the gold case: 10k Gold Filled BulovaL6 Serial: B586779 Inside of case: Bulova New York I have looked through all of the advertisements posted on the mybulova website and could not find one that matched my watch. Another site seems to have a similar watch with a small clip of an advertisement: http://www.watchophilia.com/photogallery/bulovas-1950-1959/a1957-unknown2/ Thanks for any help!
Yep, that looks like the 1956 Carlton, but with a slight difference with the sub-seconds dial.
EDIT:- To find the above ad and more, click on Forums at the top of the page, then click on Vintage Bulova information sharing, and there are the new newspaper and magazine ads in decades, many new names and unseen watches, also many variants of known watches.
