Watch Description

I purchased this watch from a watch repairman's shop I somehow managed to walk into (I think it was the site of him working on a tiny little lathe as I glanced in the window that made me want to see what he was doing) in Pittsburg, PA back in the late 80's for $25 I believe. It ran then, and even though it spends most of it's life in a box, every time I wind it up, it runs and keeps time just fine. I ran across it in my safe the other day, and would like to know as much as I can about it. I have searched the web and have not seen another model exactly like this one. If I had to guess, I would say it most closely resembles an Academy Award model, but not exactly. Please feel free to correct me on any statements I have or may make where this watch is concerned as I know nothing about it, except that it really caught my eye and has now caught my 12 year old son's eye as well. I would consider a new old stock dial if anyone here has one, and a glass crystal as well (if that was ever an option).  I would have thought it an older style than 1963, but according to the back that is on it, the M3 designates 1963.

Thanks   =   updated case dimensions: 35.6mm lug to lug x 28.6mm without crown. (28.6mm without lugs)

Also unknown from me. It is a great looking and unusual watch, thanks fo sharing it with us. If you do take it to a good watch repairman please try to get pics of the movement up close and the inside of the case back. That would help us greatly in getting closer to and ID.
