Movement jewels unknown. Last picture is the top of the inside box. Looks close to the "Surf King" listed in one of the posted 1964 ads.
So here we have a three check confirmed Surf King Model ID rating, with the record indicationg an unknown movement and a jewel count of 7. Without guidelines of what information constitutes confirmed, or how a confirmed three checks is assigned, I guess we rely on the link to Model ID rating explained (below)
Model Rating
A select group of panel members are able to rate the identification of a vintage Bulova watch. Ratings are:
•1 Tick = Model identification not confirmed by the majority of panel members
•2 Ticks = Model identification tentative by the majority of panel members
•3 Ticks = Model identification confirmed by the majority of panel members
Is it confirmed based on opinions, or as evidenced by something...say an ad, or a matching jewel count? Please let me know if/how I can help with this issue- if it's even considered an issue to others. Perhaps a set of working definitions which are more spicific than above? ...onto which side of the coin do we wish to fall?
