Hello fragger69, welcome to myBulova. I think this is the first watch you've added to the dB, thanks.
There's no question about the model on your watch. It's absolutely a 1969 Oceanographer. The variant is in doubt. Bulova made dozens of different Oceanographer models throughout the late sixties and early seventies, we just don't have an ad showing your exact model. I like the dial you have, the orange accents and hands really stand out. I find it interesting that Bulova labeled these as SUPER waterproof, tested to 333 feet when just a few years later they were marketing 666 feet (those must have been super DOOPER waterproof)
1969 Bulova Oceanographer
It is a beautiful watch to look at and I do wear it on occassions.
Historically it belonged to my father who emigrated to Australia in the fifties from Holland.
Unfortunately, he is no longer with us so I can't quiz him to where he obtained it. And as he was in the Dutch Navy he could of got anywhere in Europe as he travelled.
He left me two watches, the other an Enicar automatic circa 1969 as well, also in great working condition.
