Watch was my Grandfather's who has passed away. It works well other than it needs a crystal and some paint on the second hand. It would be great if someone could let me know what size and type of crystal it needs. Thanks
Hi Cliff, welcome to myBulova. I think you're very fortunate to have your grandfathers watch, I'm a big fan of family heirlooms too. I'm glad to see you're having it brought back to life, I hope you have fond memories of you grandfather while wearing it.
By the mid 1970's Bulova had stopped naming all but a few models. Our advert library ends about this time period and we find very few ads post 1975. Part of the reason is that quartz watches were coming into the market and for the most part we limit ourselves to the pre-quartz, or mechanical watches. Technically, we stop our efforts at 1980 for that reason.
The ad Ken linked above, the Buccaneer, is a possibilty. My vote would be a tentative Buccaneer for your watch.
Hey William,
This Jet Star looks pretty close to my watch http://www.ebay.ie/itm/Vintage-Bulova-1976-Jet-Star-11ACADB-17-Jewel-Automatic-Gold-Tone-Watch-4-Repair-/331445581984
Thanks for the reconsideration
