Watch was presented to my father in 1978. It passed to me in the late 90's. Was serviced in 2002. Case and crystal are not in the best condition. I have resisted restoration as I would like to keep and use it as my late father did. Biggest issue is that the strap was missing a couple of links and as such was very tight. A local watch repairer inserted an 'expansion' link. But this makes it uncomfortable to wear. Would very much like to source some original links to replace those lost. Update: Had the watch serviced and 'lightly' restored. New correct crystal. Hands relumed and case lightly polished. The original crystal did not have a magnifier over the date. Thanks to a forum member I was able to source a NOS replacement.

I think this is a glorious watch - I vote to name it Accutron Day and Date. My logic is based on those 1972 catalog pages we have in the full ad section.
Snorkel does not appear as a Bulova name for mechanical or Accutron watches. Bulova, in print, named watches as Snorkel in the 60's but not in the 70's. Just because it has that word printed on the dial doesn't mean that's the model name of the watch.
Many of the Accutron dive style watches have Deep Sea printed on the dial and are named in the ads as Deep Sea models, none of them have Snorkel printed on the dial as this model does.
The Mechanical watches with Snorkel on the dial are named Oceanographers in the ads.
We need to close and publish this record - I call on all Panel Members to submit their votes.

Regarding the links, there are bracelet extensions that can be found on ebay, they fit on the end of the buckle, and cost aboit $10. They give an extra 3/4 inch or so, I have a couple fitted to short bracelets and they work fine, easy to fit too.
I think this would be a Snorkel, but I have not seen any ads.
