Watch Description

Recently came upon this Bulova ladies wristwatch.  I'm trying to get more info and maybe value of the piece.  I cannot find another one like it anywhere!  I have learned a few things about the piece:

It is marked Bulova on the face

On the back it is marked "Bulova 14K Gold" and "L5" which I have learned notes the year it was made which was 1955

Each link of the bracelet says "Speidel USA".

There are 4 diamonds.

Inside says "5AD" and "17 Jewels". I would really appreciate any info if anyone knows more about this piece.

Found my loop! There are only 4 diamonds on this thing. Also, I figured out what the band says: "Speidel USA". Any idea if this band has maybe been replaced? I got the back off and it says 17 jewels. Stil trying to make out the rest.

Found some odd things on the back case. There are all sorts of numbers very lightly etched. Several sets. ??????  Then there is the Bulova 14K gold New York etching which is much darker and neater. Inside the piece it says "17 Jewels" and then "5AD" in a rectangle.

The "etched" nos. are in all likelyhood jeweller's service marks and the 5AD is the movement no. Where are the diamonds positioned? Looks like one in each of the the "eye" shaped parts, but where are the other two situated? If they are on the bracelet as I suspect, then it is probably the Cecile, with a dial variant, until proved otherwise... : )

Thanks to my wingman Will, for providing the ad backup on page one of this post!  ;^)

You say 4 diamonds, but two of those are on the band ends. The case only has two diamonds. I have jhad at least 3 of these in the past. The band is later than the watch.

"How do I set the camera to Macro settings?  Sorry, not familiar with this. I can't get a good close pic because it keeps getting blurry on me."

That would depend on the camera. If you don't have the manual just google the manufacturer and model and you can probably download a pdf file.

Looks more like one of the " La Patite " line to me.

To help identify this watch can you please indicate exactly where the diamonds are both on the case and on the band. This should help us narrow down what we are looking for. The Cecile may be a match but we need to confirm the case configuration.

Interesting, I just got the same idea Bourg. I have a la patite right here in front of me but it has 23 jewels and it is a 1956.

So if subject watch has two diamonds on bezel and the other two on the band, it sure fits the Cecile ads posted earlier in this thread.

Fits the Cecile, but still unknown.
