Very nice Accutron "Woody" Bulova Model 22508-Y. Original bracelet. Period clam shell display case is solid wood. Added 11/27/2012. As I'm am the new owner of this watch The panel may want to delete Geoff Bakers entry. (Even though his pictures are better)
I like including well established pseudonames or nicknames. This nicknaming could be similar to the "sunburst dial" early Bulova 23's, for which we have a base model, and for some, variant and an established nickname. I think a few of these "23's" coined the term Sunburst Dial, and it's established in the existing literature-be that be price guides, online resources, or peer reviewed pubs (Shawkey 2000, The Bulova 23, NAWCC Bulletin volume 387 pg 486).
There are even fewer variants of the "Woody" than the "Sunburst Dial" 23's, so it's even a better example of a nickname for a watch- IMO. Maybe we will find a variant for this one and have a name similar to a Bulova 23 "A" (Sunburst Dial).
Accutron 218 (Woody) from me.

If we adopt the Name as Accutron 218 "Woody" please make sure the others are updated as well? I kind of wish we could nail down the 22508-Y as the Bulova Model # instead. My version from 1973 is in a box marked as such, but it's only the box, no hang tag so it's reliability is questionable.
Also feel strongly that the record showing my ownership of this watch needs to disappear as it is a duplicate. There are no comments in that record that need to be preserved.
Gosh, I hate to do this but here I go......
