 1941 Bulova Unknown 17J 10AX movement, Clean 10K RGP Bezel and Stainless Back, Nice Off White Dial and Gold hands, B/R 12K Gold Filled Band. Very Nice Good Running Watch!

This watch was previously ID'd as a Ambassador "A", but after acquiring a 1939 Ambassador and compairing the two, it belongs in the unknown catagory for now until another  Lone Eagle "A" ad shows up. ;-)

Heh.... Bob.... all the ads I used are the ones we have on this site!  Look up above... under INFORMATION..... then Vintage Bulova Ads....

The Auction sale season will start up again here in late Feb. and there is always a box or 2 of old Sat. evening Posts or Life ect.. that the Auctioneers almost give away... I think I had better raise my hand on the next boxes...Have Scanner will copy :)

Yeah OT... most of what I'm finding is coming from old department store catalogs...

Sears, Spiegels, Montgomery Wards....   pretty much those main three.  Aldens is another....

Sears usually has a bunch... nor NONE.... that's just the way it seems.

Kick a Man while He's down, I did state 'fairly reliable source'.

I still don't see any evidence that shows the watch, as awesome as it is, as being an Ambassador.

I believe it was identified against this 1939 ad.

Differences as in, 1939 Minute Man to 1939 President?

1927 cut corner Conqueror to 1927 Lone Eagle

or the most recent one experienced, 1940 Banker to 1940 Ranger.

In the ads Plainsmen shows, '34 and '36 are the same watch with 1935 having a dial variation?? I would also question the validity of the dates on the ads.

Show Me the watch in question, same Year or close proximity with an engraved case....It's fun to ID watches, let's at least get it right.

Unless you can show different dates I'm assuming admin has dated the ad's correctly or as best as can be after all these years.   What is your basis of speculation that the ad's are mis-yeared other than it doesn't fit in with your current line of thinking? 

This isn't an exact thing with so little information right now.  We're obviously choosing the closest we have to it.  That it's pretty much the same watch without scrolling is the closest we have right now.  So I don't know why we can't say it's maybe that for now... until we get better information.

It's a bit like horse shoes.  Clostest gets the points until we get a ringer.
