I recently found my great grandfather's 1940s Bulova squadron with the original box, etc. I have all THAT, but I have no idea how old it is precisely. I've narrowed it down (using what Ive seen from other identical watch examples on this site) to 1945-1947, but I'm not 100% sure. There's oddly no date code anywhere on the movement, and the case serial number search (5095697) revealed nothing on this site. Am I doing something wrong? How do I date it on this site with just the case number and no date code???
Please use the "Add a watch' and upload a few good photos of your watch where the panel will then review and look to provide you with the year and model of your Bulova watch.
The case serial number starting with 5, indicates 1945.

You will need to run them through a image tool that helps resize and compress. The main reason for this is to reduce large image files that can take a long time to download and to maintain a quick and accessible site.
A good free one that I like to use is https://pixlr.com/editor/
If you can resize your images down to about 640px wide that will really help and the site should then allow you to upload ypu images.
The ideal size and resolution as indicated when adding a watch are:
Maximum file size: 150 KB
Allowed extensions: jpg
Images larger than 640x480 pixels will be scaled

Well, here is what I do, but I have a Mac:
I open the picture in question. At the top of the screen is the controls now for that pic. It will say 'Preview' or 'Picture Viewer' or something.
There should be a "tools" to click on, and when you do, it will show a variety of options, Adjust Colour, Adjust Size, etc. You want Adjust size, click on that.
This should open a window that shows you the current size of the pic, in mm or pixels or inches. It should givve you a drop down menu to select the units of measurement. For convenience, I use the pixels, becausde what we want is 640 x 480.
So if you highlight the larger number and type in '640', the smaller number will automatically adjust itself. Then click 'ok'.
Now your picture is 640 x 480 and you can upload it here.
Hope this helps!
