Where did the above ad with the director come from? It looks like a cropped out portion of a Sears or mail order catalog. Is it date verified?
There are usually more than 2 watches in catalog ads, I would question the validity of this particular ad relating to 1941.

In reply to Then how does the Watch shown by FifthAvenueRes…
I think your right Mark, after comparing both ad's side by side, it appears that both 1941 ad's are from the same catalog, probably to big to scan whole so it was done in parts, they seem to share the same catalog numbering, background, and style.
I see three 41' directors in the database all with 2 stars, yours and Nova's look like brothers (or sisters) and match the ad discription almost to a tee, =3 stars, the other one with the 47' movement actually should be listed as a 47' unknown for now.

'COMMODORE' 'BROKER'
as discussed here: http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1941-director-2535
* 10/2/2011 new ad below should help clarify any confusion over the 'DIRECTOR' Dial color scheme.
The Dial is actually 3 tone: Rose with White tracks trimmed Silver as stated in the original description and shown in the Watch images.
Scott,
If Nova were right in Her arguement I'd be on Her side any given Day, as with any Member.
Notice the numbers 5 and 7 0n the commadore and compare with the 5 and 7 on Marks watch. Not the same.
Now I will muddy up the water a little more, I have what I am calling a 1943 Director with the same style numbers as the commodore but with a copper colored dial.
Hmmmmmm. Is it a variant? It has the engraving seen on two of the other watches.
John JP
John,
I now have 2 of the Watches in the original listing.
This 1941 'DIRECTOR' and a 1947 'BROKER' - both are identical, Pink with the Pink with White/Silver trim Dial, Black printed numerals, Black Modern Hands.
Side by side they are the same Watch but 2 different models.
