Ok, anybody ever heard of Bulova making a watch called a Midland? This one is apparently made by Bulova, according to the seller, and although the case is Keystone, and the trademark does not appear in Bulova trademarks searches, the movement is certainly one Bulova used in its 17''' pocket watches, with which I must confess a certain fascination.
Interesting, don't ya think?
I'm not sure how common the movt was, or who used it. I may just drop the seller a line to see how he arrived at the conclusion it was a Bulova made watch. I just wanted to see if anyone here had heard of this, it does seem a trifle odd, and I am not convinced it is a Bulova product.
Got a reply from the seller, he says the movement was made by Bulova, and supplied to Midland. Although it is an ETA 953, which Bulova used as an ebauche, it would have to have been supplied and modded by Bulova in Europe, and then imported by this other company, as the import code is not Bulova's.
Just a curiosity, and does not conform to any description of a Bulova product. Feel free to trash this thread once everybody has digested it. We may get a question about this in the future, and it is good to know what is and isn't.

The Midland Watch Company was nothing to do with Bulova. It was in essence its own company. Most watches with this name had BXJ import code and were imported by R.G Sell & Co who where once based at 15W, 37th St ,New York in the early 1950's. Here is an example I have
