I originally thought this piece may be from the 30s, but have since opened the case. No date stamp on the case. 14K White Gold with approximately 2.25 carats of diamonds. Date stamp on movement M4. Also a peculiar shape next to date stamp, somewhat like the tip of an arrow without a stem. Manual winding

Nice watch!
I believe that without the movement date symbol/code, one would reference style and similar ads, along with Jewelers/friends memories/knowledge. The sassyclassics website didn't cite the mvnt date code, and I think they were just "guessing", and it may not have been an accurate guess. I have had a couple of similar watches, and they were very early 1970's. See
http://www.mybulova.com/watches/1972-Bulova-23-36
for one example.
I browsed through ads beginning in 1959 through 1964 looking for this shape/style, and didn't see any similar examples until "La Petite variety in 1964, and they were just "close". First Lady A same year is touted as "diamonds". It doesn't look like it's either of these.... Ads get sparce after that.
another resource may be the starting date of when Bulova had these shape crystals come on the market...that's a reasonable by proxy for earliest date, and a great tool as things are narrowed down.
