Watch Description

Hi, Just bought this watch, haven't open yet, I'm told it has been serviced. Besides the info in the form I can only tell it is Swiss made..

Finally opened the watch, here is the movement:

I now confirm that the movement is 11ANACD and not 11ANACB as initially stated by the seller.

It is 23 J and "unbalanced".

This is the case interior:

I see the word 'Unadjusted', does it say elsewhere 'Unbalanced'?

To mark the movt 'unadjusted' was a way around tariffs for importation, it meant it wasn't a finished product in any way. They most certainly were adjusted, and final tweaking would be performed in the US upon assembly of the watch.

Found a match in the French language brochure in the 1970s Ads forum page but this is a yellow gold plated case whereas this is a stainless case.  Definitely an intl model

Fantastic finding, Jim, thank you!

The advert states the code for the same model with silver case (cadran champagne) so my watch would be 391101.

There is however a small detail that differs, the name of the brand on my watch doesn't have that "fork" icon above the word. Either this is a feature of the silver case or mine would be, I think, an earlier - the logo being simpler - version of the same model.

Kind regards,

David

Hello Jim,

Many thanks for this, certainly the silver case version of the golden one you found on a French advert back in 2021: the small difference to my watch, as noted back then, is the absence of the logo symbol above 'BULOVA' on the upper part of the dial. Also, the definition on the photos is not high enough to be sure but it does seem that the 5 minutes metal markers on my watch are wider (two parallel metal pieces) than in those two watches.

Season greetings,

David

The only difference I can see is the missing Accutron logo which might not have been used in all countries.  All else is a match including the width of the markers.

Out of curiosity, do you know of other cases in which the same model had or lacked the Accutron logo depending on the country?

It occurred to me that it could also be the same model a year (couple years) before or after.
