Found this watch in a bag of jewelry that belonged to my fathers second wife. She died in 2004. I am guessing from my research that this watch is art deco and yes those are real diamonds an rubies. I would like to sell this watch.
Picture of movement also included and the inside of the watch case. Will take pic of outside case as well.
Case is 14 K gold
More likey that this is 1944 (also circle). 1930 styles were larger and baugette or rectangular for the womens styles. I would also guess that the case is solid gold to go with the diamonds and rubies. This was more common in the mid 40's through the late 50's as the Great Depression was over at that point.

It is possible that someone added the diamonds and rubies 'along the way'. To the best of our knowledge Bulova did not produce any custom pieces, they mass produced watches. If they made one of a model, they likely made hundreds of them, maybe thousands. The number on the case back is a serial number. Virtually all Bulova cases were serialized yet Bulova has no records of their production pre 1970 or so, they were either lost or destroyed. The only method we have to ID is the adverts we dig up.
