This watch is composed of a 1949 Treasurer back, movement and dial with an early 1950's President bezel.
10kt white gold fill with stainless steel back. Approx 25mm x 30mm in diameter excluding the crown. Original 2-tone finish dial.

I agree, good idea. These FrankenBullies do provide information. We now know that the Treasurer already had its 1951 form in 1949 and that the 1950's President got the design for its back from the Treasurer.
Just one note: FrankenBully does not show up in the model list on the watch search page.

admin,
I strongly disagree with a 'FRANKENBULLY' category.
This Watch should remain 'UNKNOWN' and any viewers could read through the posts to understand why.
'FRANKENBULLY' opens the door to a vast array of possibilities, namely non-Bulova cased Watches with Bulova movements which would only add to the confusion.
IMO.
Hi All, Admin,
I have to agree with Fifth on this note, FrankenBully is not a watch model that can be recognised as a Bulova manufactured model but something that is suspect to interchanged movements, case parts and dials as well as all the after market cases. Unless someone reads through a post they won't know what this is. Let's keep things realistic, we made up the "FrankenBully" name and married it to recased watches. Let's not go there , keep it as an "Unknown".
On another note, 10BM 17 Jewel movements dated A9, 1949 are fairly common. I have a couple of them in my shop now and one of them is in a 1953 President case. Obviously a swapped out movement before I got it so this is something I suspect many jewellers/watchmakers did to repair clients watches. I think the data base needs to be updated in the date range for 10BM movements production.
I agree with Fifth and bourg on this one. While there may be some value in discussing these watches they should not be included as a database category. Over the years we've seen a proliferation of these watches on EBay, some of which go for big money. Let's not give any additional credence to the idea that they have any intrinsic collectable worth.

Jay, Bang on. Fifth has raised an issue that really needs to be shut down so people coming to mybulova.com can find good solid information. Though we all have our own opinions on some items, I'd like to see us all devoted to Bulova and though we may not agree sometimes, I do believe Fifth truly is committed to the Bulova collection and id process. Let's all jus keep moving forward , we've made some huge milesones with the Academy Award watches and now I have another cataloge coming that may just reveal more!
Let's all keep the ball rolling.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Any (or all) unknowns have the potential of being a 'FRANKENBULLY'.
Bezel swaps are not uncommon and unfortunately the Bezel is the only part of the Watch that does not bear the manufacturers stamp.
In this Case the bezel appears to be from another Bulova piece (?) as aftermarket bezels/cases can resemble their original counterparts.
