1951 8AC 17j movement. Crystal curves both ways slightly and measures 21.1mm x 18.6mm.
Here is the Calhoun model. Untouched and unrestored, just received. Working fine.
This has a rare 21 jewel 10ae movement. Most 10ae I have seen have been 15/17j I think.
I will update with better pictures in the future but just wanted to get this out there as there is not another on here.
I inherited a beautiful La Petite watch from my grandmother. It was given to me in its original box and in amazing condition. I cannot find any markings on the back of the watch to help me identify it, other than the La Petite 23 Jewels that is listed on the box. Can anyone help me identify it? I am afraid of encountering a jewelry butcher when I have it opened and identified...so I'm hoping someone could give me some information. I will try to update with some better photos.
I inherited a beautiful La Petite watch from my grandmother. It was given to me in its original box and in amazing condition. I cannot find any markings on the back of the watch case besides the serial to help me identify it, other than the La Petite 23 Jewels that is listed on the box, as well as the number 23 on the face. Inside, there are numbers etched into the back of the cover. The movement has several identifying codes, but I am not sure what they all mean. "L5" translates into 1955. However, I have not figured out which is the movement model and movement serial. There is "5AD" and "6ADJ".
I absolutely love this watch and am so happy to have it.
Purchased this out of interest, looked unusual and an easy project but cant find in the database. Back is SS, any ideas?
1962 La Petite 23 Jewels Bulova Ladies - Watch/Band 14K Solid WG w/ 54 Diamond Accents; Stamped USA made, 5AD Movement, and dated '5AD' identifying 1962.
Can anyone tell me what my watch is worth +/- ?? It works & is in excellent condition .. some small hairline scratches.
I listed the no. on back of watch as the Case Serial No. However, there are 2 letters? that are not clearly indentifiable to me. The 1st looks like a side happy face (: then 238, then it looks like kind of a crescent C then 9. I looked very hard for a Mvmt Ser No. but could not find anything on the inside where the USA, Movement Model '5AD', & Date Indicator 'M2' were stamped. On the inside of the Back Case, the following is stamped: J14KT GOLDJ (<--this last J is a backwards J) then underneath is the name JACKAY.
Raised Gold numerals on Butler finish dial Dial showing some discloration between 6 and 7 O'clock. Modern Hour, Minute and Seconds Hands, Black printed tracks and Bulova logo. As found.
