WE might just be the largest trove of information out there on Bulova's baring some old guys in nursing homes with stuff in their storage.
Spoke with a very helpful older lady at Bulova Headquarters in NYC today on the telephone and she said that any and all records over 25-30 years old are GONE!! Apparently they moved to smaller offices back then and just got rid of all the old archives. Like... trashbin type got rid of... They have nothing over 30 years old stored anywhere.
Looks like there's another Military type watch to ad to the list...
Wow... talk about shattering an ID! Goodbye two tone Surgeon... hello BULOVA BLACKHAWK!!
From a 1941 Montgomery Ward catalog Ad.
And now I know I have a Bulova Blackhawk here at the house and one on the way!!
Here's a few nice pics of the Blackhawk:
Looking to replace bezel to a better likeness to original. Any suggestions/recommendations as to where I should search? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks to Fifth Avenue Restorations in ID of Bulova as Snorkel 666.
Ok guys, what is this?
I think we have some watches that are ID'd incorrectly. Plese tell me if I'm wrong but isn't the Treasure a square shaped case and the Treasurer round? If you do a search on both names both watches come up.
Bob
36mm wide not including the original oversized and crosshatched crowned
Curved and engraved Case bezel measures 35mm lug to lug x 22mm wide non inclusive of the Crown while using calipers. Rose Dial shows Black Modern style Hour and Minute Hands, raised Gilt Arabic numerals, printed Black tracks and Bulova insignia with a Black Modern Seconds Hand on a sub Dial fully obscuring the 6. Stainless Steel back.
*Watch had been in its former Owners Family since new and is an absolute original including the Vintage stitched leather double keeper strap and Bulova Gold filled buckle.
Ladies 14K wht gold, Swiss made, 6C in box on movement, 17 jewels, unadjusted. It looks like there's an L5, 6 or 8 or 9 above 'Unadjusted' indicating late '50's model I think. Numbers on the outside back casing are 644073. Band states 'Champion 1/20 14KTGF USA'. What more can anyone tell me about this watch? What is the model? What numbers are what? Value? Thanks!
