This pocket watch was my father's retirement gift in 1969. The watch runs and is engraved on the back cover. Inside back cover is ink stamped 2-7 2775 Use only genuine accutron cell marked w-4 install with yellow seal towards case back (w-4 toward dial) This watch is a true tuning fork as it was made in the first time frame. Later ones are hybrids using Quartz Crystals to activate the tuning forks. Since I first posted this I have found out that Bulova of New York contracted with a New Jersey Co. to supply movements, fabrication, cases, and engraving while the other company did all the advertising, ordering and shipping. I saw a old sales catalogue showing how to order it. The New Jersey co. did not have any records so that is as far as I can get. These were special ordered from New Jersey as part of an Employee award by his Employer in 1968-9.This is the company's current web address http://www.allamericanemployeeawards.com/page/45030. Since my original post this watch has consistently kept percise time until battery wears down. I am replacing the battery using an Accu-cell #1 and getting about 11 months from each battery. If you have one please post infomation to me as I am still curious if there were a lot of them made. I believe they were sold as part of the Executive Collection it is similar to the Ashton. I have seen 2 more like it 1 made in 1969 the other in 1978. They were up for auction. Images 3&4 show these other watches.
Hi again,
I having way to much fun here!
I recently purchased this watch from 'Timemachines' - (Mike C) and have updated the record
The iconic first generation cut corner Bulova Lone Eagle in what is most certainly the only clam shell case it has ever slept in . This watch is in remarkable condition for it's age. There is not even one watch makers service code inside the pristine case. Little green gunk here and there, a couple nicks and scratches but there is no wear on this watch - literally one of the 'rarely worn' watches we all dream of. The clam shell case is as clean and crisp as any I've seen anywhere and still closes with a distinctive snap. Mike told me he bought this watch from the nephew of the original owner who claimed to have been give the watch by the Colonel HIMSELF. An unsubstantiated provenance for certain but whoever the original owner was, he obviously cherished it mightily and treated it like the treasure it is today. Mike also supplied me with what appears to be the original strap, buckle, pins and crystal.

Hello,
I'm new here and it looks to be a nice site and I hope to be a asset hear as well learn a bit. I'm a watchmaker for the last 25 years and I love all wrist and pocket watches so maybe I can help others with a few questions.
I just pick up a 1928 Lone eagle with the original box and I think it has set in a drawer for the last 70 years. The watch and box are 98% and it is a exciting find for me.
Hi!
On the back of the watch it has the numbers 8206323 and then something that could be a symbol but it doesnt really match any of the listed symbols. I havent taken it to a jeweler and had him open it. Does anyone have any ideas what year it is from? Thanks so much :)
Here is a nice "His Excellency FF" Don't see one anywhere on the site.
Here's what I know. 21 jewels, B-10K gold filled imprinted on upper of backing. 9442214 imprinted on bottom of backing. Pics are available now
How are you guys taking your pics? Are you using specialized camers? The reason I'm asking is that I've tried to take the kind of detailed pic like you post and am having no luck what-so-ever :(
